Assistant Vice President of Finance
St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City is accepting résumés for the position of Assistant Vice President of Finance. The Assistant Vice President of Finance oversees the business affairs and budget functions of the College; plans, directs, supervises, controls, and implements all operations necessary to perform the financial responsibilities of the College; manages the development of annual schedules for budget preparation; coordinates submissions into a unified budget and financial forecast; monitors actual performance against the budget; spearheads and maintains data resulting from base budget analyses; and prepares budget reports for use by internal and external constituencies. The Assistant Vice President of Finance is responsible for managing all aspects of procurement operations, including overseeing the contracted food service operations and vending contracts.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration, advanced degree preferred. CPA designation is beneficial. Eight years accounting, fiscal or budgetary experience working in a non-profit organization; college or university setting preferred. Experience with automated budgetary and accounting systems. Required skills include ability to self-direct, perform quantitative analyses, data query, analysis, and manipulation, supervise senior business office staff, and excel at verbal and written communication. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered.
