Rhoda-Stark Memorial Award in Gender Studies
The Rhoda-Stark Memorial Award in Gender Studies is an English department award given annually at the spring Convocation. Established in 2001 by Mark A. Rhoda in memory of Richard H. Rhoda and John D. Stark, the Rhoda-Stark Memorial Award in Gender Studies recognizes a junior or senior student who has demonstrated excellence in research, writing, and/or activism that addresses issues of the LGBTQIA+ communities. Based on nominations from the WGSX faculty and staff, the WGSX Steering Committee selects recipients for this award.2023 – Cara Bond

Margaret E. Keen Award
The Margaret E. Keene Award is provided by the St. Mary’s Chapter of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), and is given to a senior woman who personifies the purpose of the AAUW: commitment to life-long learning, the advancement of women, and responsibility to society. Based on nominations from the faculty and staff at SMCM, a faculty/staff committee selects recipients for this award.
