North Campus Housing

Our North Campus residences primarily house sophomores, juniors, and seniors. They provide a more independent style living with less supervision and more responsibilities for the students.

North Campus housing options include:

  • Lewis Quad
  • Waring Commons
  • Townhouses

Lewis Quadrangle

Built in 2000, Lewis Quad houses 211 students (primarily sophomores, juniors, and seniors) in suite-style housing. Each suite contains bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a large common area. Lewis Quad follows our open housing policy with regard to roommate gender. Lewis Quad is conveniently located near the PUB (which also provides “Grab-n-Go” breakfast and lunch options for residents). Lewis Quad amenities include:

    • Central air conditioning
    • Key access to suites and bedrooms
    • Centralized laundry room
    • Nearby parking in Lot R and Lot T
    • Access to centralized kitchen facilities
    • Covered patio with outdoor fireplace
    • Covered bike racks
    • Bedroom furniture: standard twin bed (can be bunked or lofted) with extra-long mattress, desk, chair, dresser, and closet
    • Common area furniture provided includes sofa, coffee table, upholstered chairs, trestle table and chairs
    • Bathrooms cleaned twice a week by Housekeeping staff

Waring Commons

Waring Commons is our largest and newest residential area, housing 336 students in 24 apartments and 39 suites.
Suites are primarily for sophomore, junior, and senior residents. Suites contain three or four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a large common  area. Apartments are reserved for juniors and seniors. Apartments contain four bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room and a full kitchen. Waring Commons (apartments and suites 1-50) was built in 2003; the third section (WC51-63) was added in 2007. Notable:

  • Home to the Terrified Pedestrian (our free bike repair shop)
  • Each apartment has a full kitchen. (Meal plans are available but not required.)
  • Waring Commons follow our Open housing policy with regard to gender.

Waring Commons’ amenities include:

  • Central air conditioning
  • Card reader access to building
  • Key access to units and individual rooms
  • Centralized laundry room with OneCard-activated vending machines
  • Nearby parking in Lot R and Lot T
  • Nearby access to the  Lewis Quad “Grab-n-Go” breakfast and lunch option
  • Bedroom furniture: standard twin bed(can be bunked) with extra-long mattress, desk, chair, dresser, and closet
  • Apartment residents responsible for cleaning their unit; suite bathrooms cleaned regularly by the Housekeeping staff
  • Common area furniture: trestle table and chairs, couch or love seat, coffee table, and upholstered chairs
  • Kitchen: full-size refrigerator, stove with self-cleaning oven, cabinets, drawers and sink

Townhouses

Townhouses are available for junior and senior residents. Most townhouses are two-story, with a living room, full kitchen, and dining area on the first floor and two double bedrooms and bathroom on the second floor. The townhouses are broken into two sections: The Greens, and the Crescents.

Notable:

  • Meal plans are optional. Students are responsible for cleaning their townhouses.
  • The Townhouses follow our Open Housing policy with regard to gender.
  • North and South Crescent flats also contain working fireplaces.
The Greens

Built in 1988, the “Greens” Townhouses consist of 41 houses overlooking the St. Mary’s River.

Crescent Townhouses

Built in 1994, the Crescent townhouses curve around the Athletic fields, providing easy access to cheer the Seahawks on to victory.

  • Centralized laundry room
  • Nearby parking in Lot R and Lot T
  • Nearby access to the Lewis Quad “Grab-n-Go” breakfast and lunch option
