Federal Direct Stafford Loans

Follow these instructions to apply for your Direct Loans:

  1. Log onto the portal. Select the “My Financial Assistance” tab.
  2. Accept the amount you wish to borrow on the portal for your loan(s). You can reduce the amount if you wish to do so.
  3. New Borrowers: If you have not previously taken out a Direct Loan you must complete the Entrance Counseling and a Master Promissory Note (MPN) at https://studentaid.gov.
    • Sign in to Manage My Direct Loan using your personal information and your FSA ID.
    • Complete Entrance Counseling. Make sure you receive a confirmation email.
    • Complete Master Promissory Note (MPN) for Stafford Loans. Make sure you submit the form and receive a confirmation message.
