Student Colman Welles Earns Prestigious Earnest F. Hollings Scholarship from NOAA

Colman Welles ’20, chemistry major, recently earned the Earnest F. Hollings Scholarship from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) Initiates Four-Year Transformations Project

SMCM Student’s Photo Published in Chemistry in Pictures

Chemistry student and photographer Lynn Stevens ’19 had a photo published in the American Chemical Society’s Chemistry in Pictures website. Working with Assistant Professor of Chemistry Dan Chase, Stevens combined the chemicals β-ketoiminato boron difluoride and 4-N,N-dimethylbenzaldehyde through a Knoevenagel Condensation resulting in fluorescent dyes. Student Randy Larsen ’19 Admitted to Summer Internship Program in Biomedical Research

Bowers Awarded Instrument Time at National Lab
