Professor Aileen Bailey Awarded NIH Grant to Research Novel Antidepressant

Aileen Bailey, professor of psychology, has been awarded a research grant by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The project, “Stress, depression, and effects of novel antidepressants on excitatory synapses,” is in collaboration with Scott Thompson, of the University of Maryland, Baltimore.

St. Mary’s College Receives NIH Grant to Support Research Infrastructure

St. Mary’s College Receives Gift for Archaeological Research

St. Mary’s College of Maryland today announced a gift totaling $40,000 from L. Gordon Croft, of Croft-Leominster, Inc. St. Mary’s College Professors Secure Fulbright Grants

Sigma Xi Grant Advances Undergraduate Research in Parkinson’s Disease Therapy

Brodsky Awarded Franklin Research Grant

February 10, 2015

Adriana Brodsky, associate professor of history, has earned a $4,000 research grant from the American Philosophical Society in order to advance her study, “Navigating Multiple Diasporas: Argentine Sephardi Youth at home and in Israel, 1948-1976.” With this grant, Brodsky will be able to work in three Israeli archives and at the National Israeli library. Physics Department Awarded Vacuum Pump to Perform Advanced Lab Experiments

February 10, 2015

The physics department, led by Chair Joshua Grossman, was recently awarded a vacuum pump by the Advanced Physics Laboratory Association (ALPhA) and the company Kimball Physics. The pump, worth about $1,000, will enable physics classes to perform advanced physics lab experiments and demonstrations for other courses.
