Kristi Tredway, visiting assistant professor at St. Mary’s College, has a book contract with Lexington Books. The book, currently titled “Intersectionality and Articulation: Epistemological Overlaps,” highlights the similarities between intersectionality and Stuart Hall’s theorizing of articulation. Patricia Hill Collins, the leading social theorist of intersectionality, originally queried the possibility that intersectionality and articulation are similar in a footnote tucked into her book, “Fighting Words: Black Women and the Search for Justice” (Univ. of Minnesota Press, 1998). Until now, this call to explore the connections between intersectionality and articulation had been left unanswered. Lexington Books expects to publish Tredway’s book in 2020.
