Professor of Art Sue Johnson’s work is included in the exhibition “Chasing Bugs: Insects as Subject and Metaphor” currently running through Oct. 3 at the University of Richmond Museums, University of Richmond. The exhibition features more than 100 works and explores our abiding fascination with insects in science, literature, and the arts with images created from the late 1400’s to the present.
Johnson is also giving an art workshop, “Pictograms, Hieroglyphics, Emoticons and the Rebus,” on Friday, Sept. 29, from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Lila and Joel Harnett Museum. The workshop is free of charge and open to the public but registration is required. To register contact Curator of Museum Programs Heather Campbell at 804-287-6324 or hcampbel@richmond.edu.
