Alumna Nicole Zimmerman ’14, recently spent a week capturing and tagging Columbia spotted frogs in the remote Indian Valley in central Nevada, along with other volunteers and biologists from state and federal agencies. Called “Frog Week,” this collaborative conservation effort has led to the removal by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service of the Columbia spotted frog as a candidate for Endangered Species Act list after 22 years. Zimmerman participated in this survey as part of a fellowship with the U.S. Forest Service in Washington, D.C.
