St. Mary’s College alumna Kaitlyn Thompson ’16 and College faculty collaborated with The Chesapeake Biological Lab on the paper titled “Sulfate Reduction in Sediments Produces High Levels of Chromophoric Dissolved Organic Matter” recently published in the journal Scientific Reports. Thompson’s St. Mary’s Project research at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science – Chesapeake Biological Lab is the basis of the published paper. Thompson was a transfer student who majored in chemistry.
