St. Mary’s College of Maryland welcomed over 1,200 alumni back to campus June 8-11 for Alumni Weekend.
Alumni from 1949 to 2017 traveled to campus from as far away as Ireland, Scotland, and Italy. They also came from 34 U.S. states and the District of Columbia.
The weekend was highlighted by consistently sunny weather in the mid-70s to low-90s and the signature Alumni Weekend event, the Waterfront Crab Feast and Barbecue. Additional activities included a sunset party and live music on the waterfront, meals in the Great Room, a Faculty, Staff, & Alumni Gathering, a meeting of the Alumni Council, an Anniversary Dessert Reception, and student-led campus tours featuring a walk-through of the new Alumni House (formerly Cobb House).
Held annually the second weekend in June, Alumni Weekend is the largest alumni celebration of the year. Every summer, alumni return to their home on the river to reunite with old friends, learn about new College developments, and rediscover the beauty of the St. Mary’s campus. Though all alumni and their families are welcome to attend, those celebrating an anniversary year are especially encouraged to return to celebrate their milestone.
