Pilot Program Brings Land Steward Experience to Students

Fall 2016 semester, Dr. Barry Muchnick, assistant professor of environmental studies at St. Mary’s College, and Dave Minges of the Maryland Environmental Trust, partnered in a pilot program to bring land steward experience and the role of conservation easements to students in the Keystone Seminar in Environmental Studies. A feature story highlighting the program is featured on page 10 in the Maryland Environmental Trust 50^th anniversary newsletter titled “Land Marks.” Muchnick envisions the course becoming a model for land conservation training by other colleges and universities nationwide.
