Artist House curator-in-residence Patricia Watts will present Art and the Ecology: Some Kind of Nature at 4:45 p.m. Feb. 22 at Cole Cinema.
The Art and the Ecology lecture will focus on how contemporary artists are creating projects that partner with communities and environmental groups to make positive change.
The lecture is sponsored by The Department of Art and Art History, Artist House Residency Programs, Lecture and Fine Arts Committee, Environmental Studies Program, and the Museum Studies Program.
Watts has been at the College as curator-in-residence since Feb. 6 and will remain through March 31.
She has worked in the nonprofit world for more than twenty years and has curated over 30 art and ecology exhibitions, given more than 50 lectures, and has written essays for an excess of 20 publications.
This event is a prelude to a workshop that Patricia Watts will lead on Saturday, February 25 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. in Glendening Annex on the College campus. Register for workshop by email: srjohnson@smcm.edu.
