On May 14, St. Mary’s College of Maryland students and faculty set out for South America on the Andean Summer Study Tour. Led by Dr. Adriana Mariel Brodsky, associate professor of history, and Dr. Ruth Anne Phillips, visiting assistant professor of art history, the group explored the culture and history of Peru. Some of these events included a trip to Machu Picchu, a tour of the ancient city of Cusco, local workshops in weaving and ceramic-making, and of course local Peruvian cuisine. This tour has been offered for nine years in conjunction with Centro Tinku, a local Cusco liaison.
