Twenty-one students and one alumnus were this year’s inductees to Phi Beta Kappa’s Zeta Chapter of St. Mary’s College of Maryland in a ceremony held April 8, 2016 at the historic State House of St. Mary’s City. Phi Beta Kappa is the nation’s oldest academic honor society, dating back to 1776. Election to membership is based on academic achievement in the liberal arts and sciences, breadth of intellectual interests and good moral character.
Alexander Czopp ’98 was the alumnus inductee, recognized for his scholarly research. Czopp is a professor of psychology at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington.
