Susan Goldstine, associate professor of mathematics and chair of mathematics and computer science, recently attended the Joint Mathematics Meetings in San Antonio. Her art piece, Map Coloring Jewelry Set, was awarded the prize for Best Textile, Sculpture, or Other Medium. In addition, Goldstine and her colleague Ellie Baker held a signing for their book on the mathematics of bead crochet, “Crafting Conundrums: Puzzles and Patterns for the Bead Crochet Artist.” Goldstine will give a Natural Sciences and Mathematics Colloquium talk connected to the book on Wednesday, Feb. 11.
