Dr. Thomas Barrett of the history department recently had an essay included in the new book James Bond and Popular Culture:Essays on the Influence of the Fictional Superspy. The essay, “The Undefined Agent, Illya Kuryakin: Making the Russian (In)Visible in The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” explores the portrayal of the Russian spy Illya Kuryakin in the 1960’s television show The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
