Mary Addison ’15 was recently selected to present a scientific poster outlining her research at the upcoming Research Experience for Undergraduates Symposium. Mary’s scientific poster titled, “Determining the Catalytic Residue within the Dengue Virus Guanyltransferase Enzyme” will be presented at the Symposium on October 26th and 27th in Arlington, Va. According to Mary, “It is an honor to be chosen to present at this conference. It’s such a wonderful opportunity to be able to represent St. Mary’s College of Maryland to the wider scientific community.”
At St. Mary’s College of Maryland, Mary is studying biology with a minor in religious studies. She is president of the college’s chapter of the Tri Beta Biological Honors Society as well as a member of the St. Mary’s Biochemistry Club. Mary hopes that her interest and studies in biology with allow her to work in the the public health field and contribute to the continuing development of disease prevention.
