Emma Sullivan ’13 recently had an article published in the Journal of Intellectual & Developmental Disability, a peer-reviewed psychology journal. The article, based off research Emma conducted for her St. Mary’s project, explored the college students’ changing perceptions of individuals with disabilities. The study examined the relationship between members of college swim teams and special Olympic swimmers, concluding that the collegiate swimmers’ impressions of the disabled swimmers improved as they spent time together in the pool working on drills and technique.
