Professor of Economics and chair of the Department of Economics Russell Rhine recently received a $4,500 grant from the Charles Koch Foundation to fund the “Lectures on Liberty” speaker series. The Charles Koch Foundation is a non-profit organization supporting research and education programs that support the study of free society and societal well-being. In higher education, the foundation supports resources for educational opportunities and career development through lecture series and research. The “Lectures on Liberty” speaker series exposes students, faculty and the community to the historical importance of liberty in the legal, moral and economic stance. The series has previously featured speakers from George Mason University, University of Mississippi and the Cato Institute.
