Associate Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry Pamela Mertz was coauthor to two posters presented at Experimental Biology 2014 in San Diego, Calif. Mertz contributed to the work of SMP student Bethany Hunt, who presented “Progress Toward a Novel Pro-drug Approach for Temporal Manipulation of Protein Kinase A with a Commercially Available Ruthenium Catalyst.” SMP student Shelby Dahlen and Assistant Professor Craig Streu were coauthors as well. Mertz was coauthor with faculty from three other institutions on a second poster, “A National Comparison of Learning Objectives and Outcome Assessment of the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Capstone Experience: Building the ASBMB Concept Inventory.” Mertz also served as a judge for the 2014 ASBMB Undergraduate Poster Competition.
