Biochemistry majors Christopher Adams ’14, Samuel Knecht ’14 and Glenna Wong ’14 were elected into the 2014 undergraduate honor society of the American Society of Biochemists and Molecular Biologists (ASBMB) out of small cohort of students from across the U.S.
In addition to the ASBMB recognition, Adams will receive an undergraduate student award from the Maryland Chapter of the American Chemical Society. One award is given annually to one student per Maryland college. Knecht has previously received ACS’s Analytical Chemistry Award and the Maryland Chapter of the American Chemical Society’s Student Travel Award to present his research at the ACS conference in Dallas, Texas; he will also receive the departmental award for Excellence in Biochemistry. Wong will also receive an undergraduate student award from the American Institute of Chemists.
