The Capital Design Advisory (CDA) Committee of St. Mary’s College of Maryland and Historic St. Mary’s City will hold an open house on Dec. 5. The open house will be held on the campus of St. Mary’s College in Glendening Annex, room 191, from 3 p.m. through 5:30 p.m. A public meeting will follow beginning at 7:00 p.m. in Cole Cinema of the college’s Campus Center.
The open house displays will include the following: the final design of the Maryland Route 5 safety and traffic calming project; updated information about the Anne Arundel Hall and Maryland Heritage Interpretive Center projects; the replacement of the storage barn at Historic St. Mary’s City; improvements to the Chancellors Point Center at Historic St. Mary’s City; and the construction of an oyster reef at Horseshoe Bend in the St. Mary’s River. Further discussion of these projects will be held at the public meeting later that evening.
Staff from the college, Historic St. Mary’s City, and the St. Mary’s River Watershed Association will be on-hand to talk with visitors about the various items presented. Feedback from the community will be welcomed.
The CDA was created by St. Mary’s College and Historic St. Mary’s City to provide an interface for community input to their capital development planning. The CDA is charged with seeking public comment in its review of master plan and design proposals for major capital improvement and landscape projects on the St. Mary’s College campus and the grounds of Historic St. Mary’s City. Membership of the CDA includes representatives from community organizations, the college, and the city.
