The transformation of our food system into an industrial model has created new challenges involving environmental pollution, depletion of natural resources, and food contamination. The film, “FRESH,” which offers new, sustainable alternatives, will be shown at 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, in Cole Cinema of the Campus Center at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. After the film, Christine Bergmark, executive director of the Southern Maryland Agriculture Development Commission, will lead a discussion on related activities in Southern Maryland. Screening is free and open to the public.
The film is being shown in conjunction with a series of events surrounding the college’s exhibition of “Facing Fences” at the Boyden Gallery.
