LGBTQ is an acronym for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer. However, LGBTQ really encompasses all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions, not just those who identify as LGBTQ.

Throughout the year, we also have film screenings, visiting speakers, and more.
STARS (St. Mary’s Triangle and Rainbow Society) is the main LGBTQ club on campus. They host regular meetings, plan events, and work with LGBTQ Student Services on campus-wide projects like SMCM Pride Month and National Coming Out Day.
FUSE (Feminists United for Sexual Equality) is a group that hosts regular meetings and events, and discusses feminist and women’s issues and how they intersect with gender and sexual identity.
WGSX (Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies) Department has a number of classes cross-listed with WGSX every semester, and hosts events like the Colloquium and the Transcending Boundaries Conference. Their faculty come from a broad range of subjects and backgrounds, and are well-versed in a wide array of gender and sexuality – related topics.
We offer residence halls, apartments, suites, and townhouses to students living on campus. Apartments, suites, and townhouses may have combinations of students of any genders.
The first-floor left wing in Prince George Hall is reserved as an Open Housing Wing. Students can pick any roommate regardless of gender on that hall or they can be assigned a roommate of any gender. RA’s have special training on LGBTQ and trans gender issues.
