Maryland State Agencies

This list includes a few of the state offices that SMCM is responsible to for providing institutional data. Their websites will provide additional information about each organization or department.

MHEC publishes an annual Data Book with comparative data from Maryland public and independent institutions, as well as some national data. A PDF of the 2021 Data Book can be found here. Annual data books from previous years are available on the MHEC Publications page.

Regional Accreditor

St. Mary’s College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

IPEDS

American Association of University Professors (AAUP)

AAUP collects faculty compensation data from colleges and universities nationwide, and publishes an annual report in the March/April issue of their magazine, Academe. The most recent report on 2017-18 salaries can be found here.  More information about the faculty salary survey, and links to previous years reports, are available here.
