Virtual International Internships

Did you know that you could get a virtual, customized internship placement with an international organization, most often for credit? For the 2020-2021 year, we are recommending the following virtual internship options. Click here for a detailed comparison and breakdown of customized placement fields, countries, and more!

Program Options for Virtual and/or In-person International Internships

The organizations listed here offer opportunities to intern overseas as a student and after graduation. For information on internships for credit, please speak with your academic advisor and the St. Mary’s Career Center.

Although SMCM does not recommend one organization over another, we are happy to help you navigate the many options available.

SMCM Shanghai Internship

This six-week internship offers two weeks of language training and four weeks of internship in Shanghai.

Dates: May 25 – July 4, 2020.

Cost: Approximately $1500, including tuition, double hotel accommodation, and course materials. Not including airfare, visa, meals, local transportation, insurance, and personal expenses.

Child Family Health International
CFHI is a global family of health professionals and students working at the grassroots level. We support our International Partners through community health projects and Global Health Education Programs. CFHI’s 20+ programs in 6 countries connect local health professionals with international students -transforming perspectives about self, global health and healing.

CISabroad
Internships through CISabroad are customized, meaning each experience is found by a CISabroad Coordinator to meet the particular needs and interests of each student. In addition, CISabroad arranges your housing, airport pick up, and hosts cultural activities throughout the program so you can get to know other students on your program as well as locals.

EPA Internships in Europe
EPA has been arranging internships in Europe since 1975. That makes us one of the pioneers! We understand that to travel to Europe and to live and work in a foreign environment is both exciting and challenging. Students need guidance and the reassurance of a friendly face, particularly at the beginning. We make sure they get it.
