Information Technology Support Technician (part-time)
St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City is accepting résumés for the part-time contingent position of Information Technology Support Technician. This part-time position is responsible for providing technical and computer services, training and assistance to the campus community. The IT Support Technician will work daily with computer hardware and software, repairing and replacing defective equipment, installing and testing new and/or upgraded software. IT Support Technicians will help troubleshoot problems with members of the campus community and are on-call during office hours to provide field support as needed for the user in need. As the position requires constant interaction with the campus community, strong communication skills are essential.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree or above preferred. At least four years of recent relevant experience at troubleshooting both PC and MAC hardware and software problems. Ability to lift and move computers, monitors, and other hardware. Strong verbal, written and organizational skills including spelling, grammar and record maintenance procedures; and ability to handle sensitive situations. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and proof of COVID-19 vaccination, medical and religious exemptions will be considered.
