Director of Career Development
St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City is accepting résumés for the position of Director of Career Development. The Director of Career Development is responsible for the management of a comprehensive career development program, to include advising, programming, resources, budget and the supervision and evaluation of staff. This position is also responsible for developing collaborative relationships on and off campus.
Qualifications: Master’s Degree in student personnel, higher education, counseling, human resources or related field required. Five to eight years’ experience in career development or commensurate environment. Prior experience in a liberal arts setting is desirable. Excellent communication, leadership, and management skills providing career literacy and counseling services. Ability to develop and oversee experiential learning opportunities (e.g., internships, prior learning assessments, service learning). Demonstrated capability to grow and cultivate relationships with existing employer contacts, key campus stakeholders and external corporate partners. Proficiency with effective use of technology for service delivery. Capability to collect, analyze and report on key performance indicators. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered.
