Anne Arundel Hall – New Path Route in Preparation for Geothermal Well Drilling

August 7, 2015

The Anne Arundel Hall Replacement project is progressing well. With progress comes a few changes. The asphalt path behind the Parish Hall is now closed and the construction fencing has been moved out to enclose this area. Soon you will see in this area the well drilling rig that will install the 56 Geothermal Wells which will be used to heat and cool the three buildings.

The asphalt path behind the Post Office has been widened and will be the main path of travel to and from the historic side of campus until construction is complete. Signage will be placed to facilitate travel through the area. ADA access to the historic side of campus will be via the new sidewalks along Rt. 5 to the River Center crosswalk at Trinity Church Rd. As always, be aware of your surroundings and use care in your travels. Please refer to the graphic diagram below which depicts the new walking/access areas.

Construction for the new Campus Center Parking Lot is complete!

Construction began Fall 2013 on Mill Field Parking Lot with 186 spaces being added and the entrance into the parking lot being realigned with Old State House Road to enhance safety. This environmentally friendly lot uses open cell turfstone pavers that allow rain water to pass through them and absorb into the soils underneath thereby significantly reducing storm water runoff. The new parking lot can now comfortably accommodate Faculty and Staff, Calvert Hall Student Residents with a decal as well as commuter students and visitors.
