Amenities

Housing

On campus housing for race participants and Alumni is available in Waring Commons Suites and/or the Green’s Townhouses. Rooms are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. All housing is air-conditioned. Pillows, bed and bath linens are provided. Check-In is upon arrival Saturday morning 8/1 and Check-Out is 11:00 a.m. Sunday 8/2. Accommodations are available Saturday to Sunday ONLY.

Meals

NEW for 2015! Governor’s Cup Crabfeast & Barbecue – Saturday 8/1 2-4:30 p.m. – The Crabfeast & Barbecue will feature two menu options: 1) local Maryland blue crabs steamed on-site sold by the ½ dozen AND/OR 2) a barbecue lunch featuring beef brisket, grilled sausage (meat and vegetarian), hot dogs, pasta salad, potato salad, green bean salad, watermelons, cookies, and brownies. complimentary soda, lemonade, and water will be available with either menu option.

½ Dozen Crabs – $20.00 each

Barbecue Lunch – $15.00 per person

ADVANCED PURCHASE IS REQUIRED – limited tickets will be available for purchase on-site day of.

Transportation

Shuttle service will be available from St. Mary’s College to the City Doc in Annapolis on Saturday, 8/1. By request, we will offer two departure times 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Shuttle will depart form the St. Mary’s City Post Office (across the street from River Center). Seats are $25.00 each.

ADVANCED PURCHASE REQUIRED – a limited number of tickets will be available on-site day of.

Wristbands

Wristbands are required to access campus facilities and to purchase alcohol (must be 21 years of age or older) from the vendors or at the reception. Skippers/crew will be provided with complimentary wristbands. Skippers must have their crew member with them in order to get a wristband for that crew member. For non-sailors, wristbands go on sale at 10 a.m. for $5 each at the wristband table by the beer truck.

Race Tracking by RaceQs

For 2015 we will be using RaceQs for tracking the race. Please visit RaceQs.com for more details and instructions on downloading the free app.

Tender Service

We offer tender boat services operated by local captains. This service will operate from 7 am to 11 pm Saturday August 1st, 7 am to Noon Sunday, August 2nd.

Housing/Racer’s Reception/Transportation Reservations

On campus housing will be available
There will be an overnight key attendant/driver to take you to your housing starting at 10pm Friday night!
• Townhouses (sleep 4, common bath, kitchen and living area). Sold as single unit.
• Waring Commons Apartments (sleep 4, common bath, kitchen and living area). Sold as single unit.
• Waring Commons Suites (3 bedroom suites, 2 beds per room, common bath and living area, no kitchen). Sold by bed.

To book accommodations, reserve tickets for the Racer’s Reception or shuttle transportation to Annapolis register online from the home page.

Check out time for all campus housing is 11:00am Sunday, August 2nd. Keys may be turned in at the River Center, to the shuttle driver, or left in your housing on the dining table. There will be a $50 fee for each key not returned.

Campus Shuttles

Two shuttle vans will run Saturday, August 1st, 6 am – 11:30 pm and Sunday, August 2nd 6 am – 11 am. Stops include: the Waterfront, Michael P. O’Brien Athletic and Recreation Center, Campus Center/ Library, and Housing.

Breakfast

Breakfast will be served at the Trinity Church Parish Hall from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m Saturday, August 1st and Sunday, August 2cd, 6 am-10:30 am. The cost is $5 for a small breakfast; $10 for a large breakfast.

Memorabilia

Governor’s Cup merchandise will be available for purchase from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the waterfront. The campus store, located in the Campus Center, will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Vendors

The Leonardtown Rotary will operate beverage a station from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Showers (for Sailors only)

Showers will be open in the Michael P. O’Brien Athletics & Recreation Center 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Shuttle vans will make frequent stops. Sailors must wear their wristband to gain access to the showers.

Cash Machine

The cash machine is located in the lobby of the library.

Race Results

Results will be announced at approximately 5:00 p.m. under the Music/Awards tent. Results will then be posted on the bulletin board by Sailor’s Info following the ceremony.

Protests

Protest forms and alternate penalty acknowledgement forms will be available from the sailors’ information table and should be returned to the table noting the time the form was filed.
