Democracy Studies is designed to help students explore and critically examine the foundations, structures and purposes of diverse democratic institutions and practices in human experience.
At St. Mary’s, students receive an interdisciplinary approach into the rising cultures of the East, in preparation for jobs in U.S. Foreign Service, international non-governmental organizations, and the United Nations.
The primary goal of the program of study is to give you a deeper understanding of how democracies are established, instituted, and improved, and compare those processes across different societies.
