About the Nests
At the Twilight Induction ceremony incoming St. Mary’s College students hear from other students about what it means to be a community member and how to be successful in their college careers. They are welcomed into their Nests their first evening. Current Nests are named for the Cardinal directions of North, South, East, and West and students are challenged to chart their own course while being mindful of supporting each other.Through the “Nestwork” we foster community by grouping together students across all academic disciplines and engaging them in on-campus programming, exploration of St. Mary’s College, and our experiential learning opportunities.
Each Nestwork is coordinated by a near peer Nest Advisor. This upper class student shares information regarding Nest sponsored events as well as other campus activities.
