The Vegetarian Co-Op
The Co-Op is another great option for students who need dietary accommodations. It consists of a kitchen, located in the lower level of the Queen Anne Residence Hall, that allows vegetarian and vegan students to cook in a space without any meat or meat by-products.
The Co-Op is run by current St. Mary’s students who send out applications for the Co-Op via email every spring semester.
This year, the Co-Op is being run by Elizabeth Schack (epschack@smcm.edu). Feel free to email her with any questions.
Special Housing Requests
There are a very limited number of suites, apartments and townhouses with kitchens for those students with severe dietary restrictions or allergies. The Coordinator for Disability Support Services will prioritize these suites to students whose health would be in danger by eating in the Great Room or the Vegetarian Co-Op.
These students should complete the Accommodation Request Form and submit it to the Coordinator for Disability Support Services along with appropriate documentation from a licensed clinician who can speak to the impact the disability has on the student.
