Before it was named the “The Point News” in 1959, the college’s student newspaper was called “The Signal News.” As we approach the first day of spring this year (March 20), here’s an excerpt from an article in the May 1952 edition on spring fashion:
“The hot weather is finally getting around to St. Mary’s City —and the fashions that’ accompany it are being dug out of hiding. Most of the girls started wearing their white shoes during May Day week-end and have since added white dresses, shoes, and pocketbooks. Haven’t seen any of those cute striped gloves, yet, but I’m sure they’ll turn up soon. …”
